We are a paving contractor in Wallington laying driveways, patios and paths. Block paving, resin and tarmac, all built on a compacted sub-base with drainage that works. New surfaces and repairs across south London.
Our Services
A new driveway starts with digging out the old surface and the soft ground under it, then laying and compacting a stone base. The surface goes on top once the levels and edgings are set. Getting that base right is what stops a drive sinking. Read more on our driveway installation page.
Block paving gives you a hard surface made of individual blocks bedded on sand over a compacted base. If a section ever dips or a block gets stained, it can be lifted and relaid rather than replaced wholesale. There is a wide choice of colours and laying patterns. See our block paving driveways page.
Resin bound gravel is stone mixed with resin and trowelled over a solid base. It gives a smooth surface with no loose stones and no weeds coming up through joints. It needs dry weather to go down and cure properly. Our resin driveways page explains how it is laid.
Tarmac is quick to lay and works well on longer drives and shared access roads. It goes down hot, gets rolled while it is still warm and can usually be driven on the next day. Edgings stop it spreading at the sides. More detail on our tarmac driveways page.
A patio needs the same base as a driveway, just with a lighter build-up because cars are not parking on it. Slabs go on a full mortar bed with a slight fall away from the house so water runs off. Porcelain, sandstone and concrete are all options. See our patio installation page.
Sunken sections, cracked tarmac and loose blocks can often be put right without replacing the whole drive. We lift the affected area, sort out the base underneath and relay it. If the problem is spreading, we will tell you straight. Our driveway repair page covers what can be saved.

A paving contractor lays hard surfaces outside a property: driveways, patios, paths and steps. That covers digging out the ground, laying and compacting a stone sub-base, setting edgings and drainage, then fitting the surface, whether that is block paving, resin, tarmac or slabs.
All three last well when the base is built properly, and that matters more than the surface itself. Block paving can be lifted and relaid in sections, resin stays smooth and weed free, and tarmac handles heavy use. We go through the options at the property and tell you what suits your space.
Yes, for most of the work. Digging out, base laying and block paving carry on through the colder months. Resin and mortar work need dry conditions and a temperature above freezing, so those jobs get booked around the weather. We will tell you if a start date is likely to move.
Paving is the main part of our work and has been for over 40 years. We lay driveways and patios across Wallington and south London, from small front gardens to long shared drives. The materials have changed a lot in that time, with resin and porcelain now common, but the groundwork underneath them is still what decides whether a job lasts.
